February 19, 2012 · 1 comment

Not much has gone since iPad2 overwhelmed the market and already rumours about iPad3 is attracting huge attention. It started from some leaked photos which resulted in some claiming it to have ‘Retina’ (high-resolution) display.
Now MacRumors claims that it has obtained an iPad3 display. They report that they have examined the display under microscope to verify the Retina rumour. And the following are the what they found out:

1. iPad2 and iPad3 screens are the same size
2. They look similar to the naked eye.
3. iPad3 display’s pixels seem to 1/4 those on the iPad2.
4. “The iPad3 screen should carry a full resolution of 2048×1536, exactly twice the linear resolution of the iPad1 and iPad2 which is 1024×768. Such a screen should be able to display much sharper images as compared to the previous generation iPads.”

Apple is expected to introduce the iPad 3 with a media event on March 7.
